SeaFu; Asian excellence at Four Seasons Jumeirah
I discovered Seafu by chance, when a friend invited me to try it for dinner on a causal week day. I am so thankful to her; it was the most delicious food I tried in Dubai.
The restaurant it´s located at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach.
You can sit inside or on the terrace with unbeatable beachfront views.
Every item on their Asian-inspired fresh seafood menu comes with an excellent five starts service. This is the ideal place to chill, unwind and enjoy excellent slow food.
The meaning of the name is derived from the Chinese word ‘Sifu’ which means ‘Master’, so they play on the words Sea Fu or ‘Sea’ and ‘Food’
Every month they will present a different menu, inspired in one Asian country, but you will have the chance to try it on Tuesdays only.
This culinary Tour of Asia, started in Japan in the capital metropolis of Tokyo. That is the menu I had the chance to try, but next month will be another cuisine.
I was very lucky beacase Japanese food is one of my favourites.
Sea Fu’s Chefs have prepared a menu that incorporates Washoku, (traditional foods of Japan) and also well known dishes like sushi, matcha green tea and sakura to showcase the diversity of authentic Japanese food and prove why Japan is one of the mosht rich culinary destination.
The Tokyo edition menu includes:
- Amuse bouche:
chawanmushi (ginko nuts, matsutake mushrooms). This was WOW
- Starter:
sushi selection (madai red snapper, sanma pacific sauro, maguro yellow fine tuna)
Japanese Wagyu beef carpacio (ponzu dressing, daikon, mitsuba leaf). Amazing flavour!
- Main:
Grilled Japanese cured Hamachi (yuzu soy, komostuma spinach). Beautiful presentation.
- Dessert:
Raspberry rain drop, sakura ice cream, green tea namelaka, bean basket.
The price is AED 285 per person including 3 glases of wine or sake.
Dress code is chic but comfortable, since at the end is a beach side venue in a five starts hotel. We like this outfit from Cult Gaia, perfect with modest high heels and accessories.
