Mas Mas Brunch at Maya
Visiting Maya Mexican Kitchen & Lounge at the beautiful Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa in Dubai was in my bucket list for very long time, and finally I had the opportunity to try it for the season opening of their "Mas Mas Brunch".
The whole experience was excellent, Maya brings you a taste of Latin America like no other place in town, specially for the Mexican live band, but also the decoration, the colours, the smell of the food...
The Friday brunch is sharing-style plates with exciting and unique flavours, from the most traditional dishes to contemporary, designed to be shared with family and friends.
I love brunches that bring all the food to the table, otherwise I cannot choose, because I love trying everything!
We started with the "entrantes", Spanish for starters. They sent guacamole, quinoa salad with duck breast and pomegranate (very unique) and sword fish ceviche in "salsa verde", amazing.
For "segundos" or second course, we had nachos, quesadillas with mushrooms (we never seen something like this: the colour was very dark and the shape like a pastry, no the tipical quesadilla shape, but the flavour was soft and nice) and chicken with pinapple tacos, everything very traditional Mexican, but with a very modern twist.
The main courses were really too much! one whole lobster tail per person, grilled to perfection, and amazing fajitas! you can make the fajita yourselft at the table, they will bring you chicken and beef, grilled green pepers and onions, guacamole, tortillas, sour cream, beans and fried rice, this was the best part!
For the desserts they have a separate room with the most tempting options, like churros, fruits, straberries with cream, cheesecakes with different flavours, etc... perfect with a nice cup of coffee.
The cocktails menu was also very interesting, however I decided to have a classic Margarita.
I cannot wait to visit Maya again when the weather gets better and enjoy their beautiful terrace with sea views.
Another hihglight of this brunch is that they give you free access to the hotel pool and beach! that´s very cool to chill aftert the amazing Mexican feast.
