With Watercolours from the Southern World, the Chilean artist Luis Guzmán Molina invites us to a retrospective on a journey through his pictorial life. His works stand out for the fusion between light and landscapes, showing the beauty of the environment in which we live.
With a vast career recognized internationally, Luis Guzmán Molina points out that he chose watercolor because it offers two options: one playful and the other complex, which make it the most difficult technique, which is why it is cultivated by very few painters.
Owner of countless awards, both in Chile and abroad, Luis Guzmán Molina studied art at the University of Chile and the University of Concepción, in which he also taught art. Currently, he works as a professor in the Department of Visual Communication of the University of Bío-Bío.
He has participated in exhibitions in Chile, the United States, Australia and in other countries in Europe and Latin America.
Among the many awards and distinctions he has obtained are:
First Prize in Watercolor at the Autumn Salon, National Society of Fine Arts, Santiago, 1996
Gold Medal National Fine Arts Salon, Santiago, 1997
First Prize in the Salon "The Chilean horse"
Honorable Mention at the Ibero-American Watercolor Biennial, 1998, Viña del Mar
