Afternoon Tea at Waldorf Astoria Dubai

I had a great time today trying the afternoon tea at Peacock Alley, at Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah!

In a first collaboration of its kind, Newby Teas has partnered with iconic British designer Matthew Williamson to produce a capsule collection of designer tea caddies featuring three beautifully bespoke tea blends Jasmine Rose Garden, Maharaja’s Breakfast and Exotic Earl Grey are also reflected in the elaborate artwork.

Waldorf Dubai has created a stunning curated afternoon tea to celebrate this collaboration. Matthew's love for vibrant colour and intriguing prints in evident in the trio or original designs, based on hand-painted watercolours inspired by stories of the east.

Newby teas is world’s most awarded fine teas brand, carefully sourced during prime harvest season and packed using high tech sustainable materials. Also all proceeds go to charity and they are certified low fluoride content which many luxury teas do not disclose.

From the sweets section we had profiterole, English fruit cake, salted chocolate tart, apple tart, chocolate macaroon and of course freshly baked selection of golden raisin and plain scones, with clotted cream, raspberry jam and lemon curd.

From the savoury we tried delicious beef and mushroom on puff pastry, smoked salmon dill cream on charcoal bun, truffle egg salad on soft turmeric rolls, cucumber and cream cheese sandwich, smoked duck capsicum in a tortilla, oriental crab salad with herbs in a cone and mini quiche spinach and feta cheese.
