La Strega is the brand-new Italian restaurant at Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa that just opened a few weeks ago.
Their goal is to bringing the authentic Italian cuisine to the Middle East. The decoration and atmosphere of the place really transport you to the beautiful European country.
The restaurant is led by Italian Head Chef Christian Carrieri and Chief Pizza Maker Edoardo Di Libero.
The menu comprises traditional as well as innovative pizzas and homemade Italian well known dishes, with good portions and nicely presented. The venue also have a bar and a terrace overlooking the Arabian Gulf where you can enjoy a delicious pizza with an Aperol Spritz cocktail.
The dishes I tried during my visit as you can see in the photos are:
LA BURRATA Apulian burrata cheese, marinated eggplant, roasted datterini tomatoes, tarallini crumbles, basil pesto
CARPACCIO DI MANZO Thin sliced cured beef, sun-dried tomatoes, pears, parmigiano shaving, lemon dressing
PEPATA DI COZZE Sautéed mussels with tomato sauce, white wine, garlic, chili, parsley, crispy bread
RAVIOLI DI BURRATA Homemade ravioli pasta stuffed with burrata cheese, cherry tomato sauce, basil
TAGLIATELLE ALLA NORMA Homemade tagliatelle pasta, fried eggplant, tomato sauce, salted ricotta cheese, basil
RISOTTO ASPARAGI & TARTUFO Carnaroli rice, green asparagus, black truffle, butter, parmigiana cheese
BURRATA PIZZA Mozzarella cheese, basil pesto, smoked burrata cheese, dry datterini tomatoes.
As a dessert: tiramisú, Cannoli Siciliani and Sbriciolata.
The dress code it´s smart casual. I was wearing a knee length and sleeve less dark purple colour dress, cream color hight heels and bag, however in this case platfroms are also a good option.
