Ají the Palm at Club Vista Mare

Definitively Ají is one of our favourite places in town. First of all is not new that Peruvian food is on fashion at the moment, it seems like every month a new Peruvian restaurant is opening in Dubai. Definitely the difference is in the quality.

Probably Ají, (that means capsicum or pepper in Spanish) is one of the best, a hidden gem that needs to be discovered. You can find it in Club Vista mare, the new beachfront residential and recreation complex in Palm Jumeirah.

They have the perfect beach side terrace with an outdoor bar and lounge area with stunning views of the city’s shoreline. The amazing interior is tastefully decorated with dark wooden floors and colorful wall paintings.

Definitely it is worth a visit, as their contemporary nikkei style food and signature cocktails are to die for.

What is Nikkei food? Is it the fusion between Japanese and Peruvian cuisines, that transformed local Peruvian dishes using Japanese flavors and techniques after the mass emigration of Japanese individuals and families to Peru at the end of the 19th century.

I had the opportunity to visit Ají to enjoy their Nikkeilicious ladies night, that takes places every Monday. Throughout the night ladies can have 30% off on our A la Carte menu and 3 complimentary drinks from 8pm-midnight.

In addition I have to say that everything was delicious as very well presented as you can see on the photos.

I tried:

  • Carapulcra (Dry Potato and Black Angus Tenderloin with Teriyaki, Sesame Seeds and Peanuts)

  • Robalo (Sea Bass, Scallops, Octopus and Squid with Ají Amarillo, Black Beans and Rice)

  • For dessert we had Yuzu Chesscake and Sticky Rice with coconut and mango.

I would like to mention the attentive staff and the DJ, who really gets the ambiance festive all night long.
